Which “Siding” Are You On? Wrap Your House With What You Like!

Home Coverings

The possibilities are nearly endless when it comes to protecting the exterior of your home.  Thomas Custom Builders would like to provide a few tips to help you narrow-it-down.

You can choose to wrap your home in vinyl sidings, brick, stucco, EIFS (exterior insulating foam synthetic stucco – i.e. fake stucco), wood, cement boards, and more.  Brick is durable, very low-maintenance, fire-proof, and aesthetically pleasing.

If you’re looking for a less-expensive option, consider vinyl siding.  It’s durable, and it doesn’t require maintenance other than occasional washing (no painting, no caulking).  When it’s installed properly, it’s a complete water-shedding system, and most builder-grade vinyl siding will last 30-50 years.  There are premium vinyl sidings that have the appearance of wood and incorporate foam insulation; adding “R” value to your wall.  The greater the letter, the longer it takes for heat to go through it. Most siding contractors can also wrap, in aluminum or vinyl-faced aluminum, all of your exterior trim; thus preserving and negating need for additional maintenance in the future.

Of course, these are just a few tips; there are many, many options when it comes to house coverings.  For additional information, give us a shout!
