Talking to a prospective builder is the best way to get to know him. You can read brochures and websites and third-party reviews ad nauseum, but you won’t get a true sense of the builder until you meet with him, talk to him, and hear his philosophy. Only you can make the determination whether you think he’s sincere, honest and as good as his word. There’s a difference between what someone says and the results of the work. There’s a difference between the slick sales pitch and the crew who comes to your house day in and day out to help you make your remodeling vision a reality. But when all is said and done, we will be the most complete and accurate bid. Ask anyone who has ever gone with another builder based solely on price. In the end, they probably paid just as much or more in changes, “oops” factor, bad quality and add-ons.
